Tragic Funeral for Teen Stabbed on Way to School in Croydon

A funeral will be held for 15-year-old Elianne Andam, brutally stabbed on her way to school in Croydon. The horrifying attack happened at 8:30am on September 27, on Wellesley Road.

Elianne’s family remember her as a “beautiful” and “funny” girl, adored by a large circle of friends. The community is mourning the shocking loss of a bright young life.

Funeral Details & Procession Route

  • Time: 10:30am to 1:30pm
  • Location: New Life Christian Centre, Croydon

The funeral procession will start from the family home on Derby Road just after 9:30am. It will pass along 1 Road, Poplar Walk, then turn onto Wellesley Road (which will be closed during the procession) before continuing down George Street and Church Street.

There will be a brief pause at Old Palace School en route to the venue. Members of the public can line the route to pay respects, but the service and reception are invite-only, with burial reserved for family.

For those who can’t attend, the service will be live-streamed on the New Life Croydon website from 10:30am.

Suspect Arrested – Teen to Face Murder Charges

The attacker, described as masked and wearing gloves, pulled a large knife and fatally stabbed Elianne multiple times before fleeing. Despite attempts to save her, she sadly died.

A 17-year-old boy was arrested at 9:45am the same day in nearby New Addington. He faces charges of murder and possession of a knife. The trial is expected in the spring.

Elianne’s death marks the 16th teenage homicide in London this year, sparking fresh calls for action on knife crime.
