Filey Man Jailed for Shocking Sexual Assault Spree
Gerald Ellis, 64, from Primrose in Filey, was locked up for three years and two months at Hull Crown Court. He pleaded guilty to multiple sexual assaults against three women over six years.
Six Years of Abuse Uncovered
Ellis admitted to six counts of historic sexual assault and two counts of assault by penetration. The attacks happened between January 2014 and March 2020.
On top of prison time, he’s slapped with a 12-year sexual harm prevention order, a 15-year restraining order, and a lifetime spot on the sex offenders’ register.
Victims’ Bravery Praised
“Ellis is a sexual deviant who preyed on young women all for his own sex-obsessed absurdities,” said Detective Constable Gayle Allwood from the Protecting Vulnerable People Unit. “The victims’ courage in coming forward was crucial in bringing Ellis to justice.”
Police Urge More Victims to Step Forward
Authorities stress they take all reports of sexual offences seriously — even those from years ago. Support is available through independent and criminal support networks for anyone affected.
Alongside Ellis’ case, police launched a campaign featuring Jamie, a survivor who’s waived her anonymity to encourage others to speak out and get help.
