Speeding Driver Caught with Crack and Cocaine Twice in Croydon

Junior Palmer, 55, from Whitestone Way, Croydon, was first stopped speeding in a silver Mercedes along Garratt Lane, SW18, just after midnight in March. Nervous and unable to explain his movements, police searched him and found crack cocaine, cocaine, and cannabis. But that was just the beginning.

Palmer Nabbed Again with More Drugs and Violence

On Sunday, 30 July, officers caught Palmer again, suspecting he was hiding more contraband in his clothes. At Wandsworth police station, they uncovered another stash of crack, cocaine, and cannabis. Things quickly turned ugly when Palmer lost his temper as officers removed his watch before locking him up.

Once handcuffs were taken off in the cell, Palmer went berserk, punching an officer in the head and face. The commotion triggered a panic alarm, and two officers had to restrain him.

Jail Time for Brazen Drug Dealer and Police Attacker

On Friday, 6 November, Palmer faced Kingston Crown Court. He pleaded guilty to 13 charges, including assaulting a police officer and possession with intent to supply drugs. The court slammed him with a sentence of five years and two months behind bars.

Detective Constable David Picken, South West BCU, said: “This is an example of completely brazen criminal behaviour. Thanks to proactive police work, Palmer will spend a reasonable time in prison. It highlights the risks officers face and shows this behaviour won’t be tolerated. We will continue to charge anyone who assaults emergency workers.”
