Two Shot in Liverpool: Police Launch Major Investigation
Chaos hit Liverpool last night after two men were found with gunshot wounds in a brazen attack. At around 10:30pm on Wednesday, December 13, an 18-year-old turned up at a local hospital with bullet injuries to his legs.
Second Victim Discovered Near Everton Park
The first victim is believed to have been near Netherfield Road, close to Everton Park, when he was shot. Armed police swooped on the area and found a second victim, a 24-year-old man, also with leg wounds from gunfire. Both men were rushed to hospital and are now in stable condition with non-life-threatening injuries.
Cops Hunt Gunmen: CCTV and Forensics In Full Swing
Detective Inspector Pete McCullough is leading the probe. He said, “We know that two males received gunshot injuries to the legs, and we believe the two incidents are linked. CCTV and forensic enquiries are under way to unravel the sequence of events.”
Police Appeal for Witnesses and Dashcam Footage
Officers are especially keen to hear from taxi and delivery drivers who were around Netherfield Road between 10pm and 10:30pm and may have dashcam footage. Local residents and passersby who noticed anything suspicious are urged to come forward.
“The brazen use of firearms on the streets of Merseyside is not acceptable,” said DI McCullough. “We remain committed to finding those responsible for this reckless act.”
