Londoner Jailed for Savage Beating in Wales Over Drug Debt Mix-Up
Michael Dumbuya, 27, has been slammed with a hefty 14-year prison sentence after attacking an innocent man in a brutal case of mistaken identity. The Londoner drove all the way to south Wales but smashed into the wrong doorstep, terrifying a totally innocent victim in the early hours of 20 May 2025.
Innocent Man Dragged From Bed and Brutally Beaten
The victim was ripped from his bed and battered without mercy. Dumbuya repeatedly punched and kicked the man before fleeing the scene. Police acted fast, spotting Dumbuya’s car on the M4 motorway near Caerleon. A nail-biting high-speed chase ended when he crashed his vehicle at junction 17.
Armed and Dangerous: Loaded Shotgun Found in Getaway Car
When police caught up, Dumbuya scrambled out through the driver’s window. A search of his car uncovered a loaded sawn-off shotgun, a CO2-powered pistol, a balaclava, and gloves. The arsenal revealed just how dangerous this attack really was.
Hard-Hitting Sentence and Long Driving Ban
Cardiff Crown Court hit Dumbuya hard on 19 December 2025, locking him up for 14 years and five months. He also faces an extended licence period of four years. As if that wasn’t enough, the violent criminal is banned from driving for more than 15 years—and must pass an extended driving test if he ever gets behind the wheel again.
