Pair Busted for Dozens of Shoplifting Spree in Westgate-on-Sea

A man and a woman have been hit with 22 charges after allegedly stealing repeatedly from the same shop in Westgate-on-Sea.

Caught in the Act After Police Recognise Them

Jordan Best, 35, and Faye Butterfield, 38, were both arrested in the early hours of Saturday 11 December after Kent Police spotted them as suspects linked to numerous thefts.

10 Thefts Each From One Shop

Police investigations revealed the duo stole alcohol and groceries worth over £300 from a Station Road shop between 16 November and 10 December. Both face 10 counts of theft each.

  • Best, from Station Road, Westgate-on-Sea, also faces an additional shoplifting charge for an incident on 9 December.
  • Butterfield has been slapped with a charge of assaulting an emergency services worker, accused of kicking a police constable while being detained.

Remanded in Custody Ahead of Court Date

Both Best and Butterfield have been remanded in custody and are set to appear at Folkestone Magistrates’ Court on Monday 13 December.
