A man in his 30s sparked panic after climbing onto the roof of an Asda supermarket in Bexleyheath on Friday morning. Staff and shoppers raised the alarm just before 11am when he was spotted standing dangerously high, armed with a knife.

Knife-Wielding Man Threatens to Jump

The Met Police confirmed officers were called at 10:36am following reports from staff and concerned onlookers. The man, reportedly local, threatened to harm himself and was seen brandishing a knife while threatening to leap from the roof.

Plunge From Roof Leads to Emergency Response

Eyewitnesses say the man either jumped or fell from the building. Emergency crews rushed to the scene, including London Ambulance Service, London Fire Brigade, and a dramatic air ambulance that touched down on a nearby school’s netball court.

Man Receives Hospital Treatment

He is currently being treated by paramedics and will be taken to hospital for further care. Authorities are continuing to investigate the incident, ensuring the area remains safe for the public.
