A 48-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving after a pedestrian was hit by a van at John Wilson Business Park, Whitstable. The crash happened around 9:20am on Thursday, sparking a major emergency response including armed police.

Staff at Achieving Clarity, a chartered accountancy firm on the estate, quickly rushed to help the injured man. He was found outside their office door, clutching his left leg and in intense pain. Kent Police confirmed the arrest of the 48-year-old suspect, who remains in custody as they investigate the circumstances of the crash. Around 25 officers, including armed units nearby at the time, swarmed the scene to secure the area and gather evidence.
Christian, a director at Achieving Clarity, said: “The victim was clearly in pain and was holding his leg. Our staff helped him inside and stayed with him until the paramedics arrived.”
