Tragic Death After Brutal Attack in Plaistow Park
A 61-year-old man has died following a vicious assault in Plaistow Park, East London. Police were called at around 11:35am on Thursday, 30 May after reports a man was attacked in the park, E13.
Victim Dies from Serious Head Injury
Officers and London Ambulance Service rushed to the scene. The victim, later named as Steven Kennedy of Plaistow, was taken to a nearby hospital with a serious head injury. He sadly died on Sunday, 2 June.
Police Launch Homicide Investigation
Detectives from the Homicide and Major Crime Command are leading the probe. A post-mortem is set to determine the exact cause of death.
Detective Chief Inspector Paul Considine said: “We are keen to speak to anyone who was in the park at the time and who might have seen the incident or events leading up to it. Any information, no matter how insignificant it may seem, could help us move forward with our investigation.”
Two Men Arrested, One Charged
Two men have been arrested in connection with the attack. One was charged with GBH and appeared in court before Steven Kennedy’s death.
