Maidstone Man Busted for £5,700 Shoplifting Spree Across West Kent

Crime Spree Hits Major High Street Shops

A Maidstone resident has been nailed for a series of thefts across west Kent. Between September 23 and December 21, 2023, meat, booze, clothes, and other goods vanished from shops in Maidstone, Tonbridge, Tunbridge Wells, Snodland, and Sevenoaks.

Top names targeted included Marks and Spencer, Next, the Co-op, and 1, with the total haul valued at over £5,700.

Lee Plant Arrested and Charged

On January 4, 2024, police swooped on Lee Plant, 43, from West Park Road, Maidstone. He was charged by the Maidstone Victim Based Crime Team with 16 counts of theft.

Remanded for Court Appearance

Plant was remanded in custody and is set to appear before Medway Magistrates’ Court on January 5.
