Tunbridge Wells Knife Threat Chaos: Suspect Charged

A man has been charged and locked up after a violent incident near Tunbridge Wells where police were spat at and threatened with a knife.

Knife-Wielding Man Warns Cops They’ll Be Stabbed

At about 10.40pm on Friday 27 October, officers responded to a reported assault at a property in Valley Road, Rusthall. When they tried to enter, a man armed with a knife warned them they would be stabbed if they came in. The suspect also spat at officers from an upstairs window and threw objects their way.

Multiple Assaults and Damage Uncovered

  • Three other people inside the property were reportedly assaulted.
  • Police called for backup and finally secured the address around 3am on Saturday 28 October.
  • Callum Jefferys, 27, with no fixed address, was arrested.

Jefferys now faces charges including affray, six counts of assault (three involving emergency workers), and three counts of criminal damage. Allegations include spitting in a police van, urinating on a custody cell floor, and damaging items at the Rusthall property.

Remanded Ahead of Court Hearing

The suspect has been remanded to appear at Medway Magistrates’ Court on Monday 30 October.
