Man Dead and Two Hurt in Sydenham Shooting

A man has died and two others injured after shots rang out on Wells Park Road, Sydenham, early Sunday morning. Emergency services rushed to the scene at around 10:10 a.m. on 10 November following reports of gunfire.

Police and Ambulance Respond Rapidly

The London Metropolitan Police and London Ambulance Service found a man suffering from gunshot wounds on arrival. Despite their efforts, he was pronounced dead at the scene. Police are working to identify him and notify his family. A post-mortem will be arranged.

A woman was also shot in the legs and taken to hospital. Her injuries are not life-threatening. Shortly afterwards, a third person turned up at the hospital with suspected gunshot wounds. Their condition is currently unknown.

Manhunt Underway as Community Reacts

Commander Peter Stevens spoke out about the shocking incident:

“I know people will be shocked by this senseless act of violence, all the more so on a Sunday morning in a residential area. I share their concerns and can assure the local community that the Met’s response, alongside our partners, has been rapid.”

More officers, including forensic teams, are being deployed to the area. Police cordons remain in place as detectives continue collecting evidence and working to keep residents safe.

Police Appeal for Witnesses

Officers are out patrolling and urging anyone with information to come forward. Several locals have already contacted police. Authorities are especially keen to see any CCTV, phone, or doorbell footage from the area.

No arrests have been made yet as the investigation continues in this quiet London neighbourhood stunned by violence.
