Man Charged with Attempted Murder After Woman Seriously Injured in Gravesend Car Attack
Detectives from the Kent and Essex Serious Crime Directorate have charged a man with attempted murder following a shocking assault in Gravesend. The victim, seriously hurt but thankfully not facing life-threatening injuries, was involved in what first appeared to be a collision on Dering Road.
Shocking Morning Incident on Dering Road
Police were called at 10.07am on Sunday 13 May after reports that a woman had been hit by a car. However, officers quickly identified Patrick Molloy, 28, from Springhead Road, Northfleet, as more than just a driver in a crash. He was detained on suspicion of attempted murder.

- Driving without a licence
- Using a vehicle without third-party insurance
- Failing to provide a specimen for analysis
- Criminal damage
Molloy now faces a tough legal battle after being remanded in custody. He is set to appear at Medway Magistrates’ Court on Monday 14 May.
Victim Receiving Hospital Treatment
The woman, who is reportedly known to Molloy, was rushed to hospital for treatment. Police confirm her injuries are serious but not life-threatening.
