A 44-year-old man has been charged with murder following the death of Alan Creasey, who suffered fatal injuries at his home in Lancing on Monday night (29 May).

Disturbance at Lancing Home Ends in Tragedy

Police were first called to Ingleside Crescent at around 8.15pm on Monday after reports of a disturbance. Officers found one occupant with a minor arm injury but left the scene to search for the suspect.

About an hour later, officers returned and discovered 52-year-old Alan Creasey with a serious head injury. He was rushed to Royal Sussex County Hospital in Brighton but died from his wounds the following morning.

Police Seek Witnesses and Clues

Detective Chief Inspector Till Sanderson of the Surrey and Sussex Major Crime Team said: “This is a tragic incident and we are doing all we can to establish what happened that night.”

Police are appealing for anyone who was in Ingleside Crescent from 2pm on Monday to come forward if they saw suspicious activity. They are especially keen to trace a man seen riding a white or silver mountain bike in the area throughout the day. The man is described as white, about 5’10” and stocky.

Officers are also searching for a pair of brown or orange gloves, possibly workman’s style, linked to the investigation.
