Burglar Busted: Crawley Down Crime Spree Ends in Court

A man has been locked up after a wave of attempted burglaries and thefts in Crawley Down, Sussex Police confirmed.

Crime Spree in Bowers Place

Tony Cooper, 32, with no fixed address, was arrested following a string of crimes in the Bowers Place area during the early hours of Friday, 22 March.

He faced serious charges, including:

  • Four counts of attempted burglary
  • Three counts of theft from a vehicle
  • One count of fraud by false representation

Guilty Plea and Upcoming Sentence

Cooper pleaded guilty to all charges at Crawley Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday, 26 March. He was remanded in custody and is set to be sentenced at Portsmouth Crown Court on 23 April.

Police Keep Hunting: Two More Arrested

The investigation continues. Sussex Police have also arrested two other men linked to the incidents:

  • A 39-year-old from Bognor Regis, currently on conditional bail until 2 April
  • A 23-year-old from Croydon, on conditional bail until 21 June

Sussex Police say officers are cracking down hard on known offenders and responding swiftly to community burglary reports.
