Milton Keynes Man Convicted of Stabbing in Pub Knife Attack
Brenton Aherne, 34, from Beanhill, Milton Keynes, has been found guilty of wounding with intent and carrying knives in public. The verdict came after a six-day trial at Aylesbury Crown Court on Tuesday, 16 April.
Pub Night Turns Violent After Drunken Antics
The shocking incident unfolded on the night of Saturday 17 October 2017 at The North Western pub in Wolverton. Aherne was asked to leave after urinating on the floor. Instead of leaving quietly, he went on the rampage, throwing a glass bottle at a staff member.
Moments later, he pulled a knife from his coat and stabbed a 27-year-old man in the chest before fleeing on foot.

Aherne was formally charged on 5 September 2018 and is set to be sentenced at Aylesbury Crown Court on Friday 21 June.
Police Crackdown on Knife Crime
“This was a nasty incident in a public house where the victim suffered a stab wound to his chest, which thankfully did not cause more harm,” said investigating officer PC Laura Wilson from Milton Keynes Police. “Aherne acted aggressively towards innocent members of the public and staff after being asked to leave for inappropriate behaviour. It is thanks to good fortune there were no further injuries. Tackling knife crime is a priority for Thames Valley Police. We will work tirelessly to take dangerous offenders off our streets.”
