Burglary Bloke Gets Jail Time in Bracknell Break-In
Stephen Brooker, 22, from Ripplesmere, Bracknell, has been locked up for two years and one month after pleading guilty to burglary. The sentence was handed down at Reading Crown Court on 12 April.
Smash and Grab in Ripplesmere
Brooker broke into a Ripplesmere property between the evening of 21 December and the morning of 22 December last year. He smashed a window, ransacked a bedroom, and stole personal items and clothing belonging to the victim.
Forensics Seal the Deal
Fingerprints and blood samples at the scene matched Brooker’s, leading to his arrest on 17 January 2019. He was charged the next day. Brooker had previously tried to contact the victim on social media but was blocked.
Detective Constable Paul Bentley said, “Given the forensic evidence against him, I am pleased that Brooker admitted his guilt. The court has taken this matter seriously and imposed a substantial sentence, also safeguarding the victim with a ten-year restraining order.”
Brooker is banned from contacting the victim or attending her home for a decade after his release, sending a clear message that Thames Valley Police won’t tolerate burglary in Bracknell.
