Man Jailed for Life After Stabbing Wife and 11-Month-Old Baby
A man has been handed a life sentence after pleading guilty to stabbing his wife and an 11-month-old baby in a horrifying attack.
Rehan Khan’s Brutal Attack
Rehan Khan, 27, of no fixed address, admitted two counts of attempted murder at the Old Bailey on 13 May. The chilling attack happened on 4 June 2018 in Feltham.
Khan forced his way into a home where his 32-year-old wife was inside. After a heated argument, he pulled a knife from his waistband and threatened to kill his wife and others present, even threatening to take his own life.
Victims Left Fighting for Their Lives
Police were called when Khan’s wife couldn’t be reached. Officers arrived to find both the woman and an infant suffering multiple stab wounds. The victims were rushed to hospital and endured months of treatment.
Police Manhunt Ends With Arrest
Khan fled the scene but was tracked down after a manhunt. Two days later, he turned himself in at a West London police station and was arrested for attempted murder on 6 June 2018.
Life Sentence and No Remorse
On 10 June at Peterborough Crown Court, Khan was sentenced to life imprisonment with a minimum 16-year term. The judge described him as dangerous and devoid of remorse.
“Rehan Khan inflicted significant injuries to his wife and a young child – injuries that would have been worse if not for the quick intervention of emergency services,” said Detective Constable Tom Bradshaw, who led the investigation.
“He carried out these attacks in front of witnesses who will never forget what they saw. We’re relieved he’s been brought to justice and will spend a long time behind bars.”
