Man Jailed for 12 Years Over Historic Child Sex Charges in Staffordshire

A 39-year-old man from Gillow Heath has been locked up for twelve-and-a-half years after being convicted of multiple historic sexual offences against children in Staffordshire.

Gareth Robinson Found Guilty of Shocking Child Abuse

Gareth Robinson was found guilty of sexually assaulting a girl under 13, plus five counts of sexual activity with girls aged 13 to 15. These crimes happened between August 2004 and June 2005.

On Friday, August 27, Stoke-on-Trent Crown Court sentenced Robinson to 12.5 years behind bars. He was also slapped with a 10-year prevention order and will remain on the sex offenders’ register for life.

Police Praise Victims’ Bravery

Detective Inspector Zoe Kelsall, of Staffordshire Police’s Rape and Serious Sexual Offences team, said:

“I want to pay tribute to the victims and the tremendous courage and bravery they have shown in coming forward so we could bring this case to court. Although many years may have passed, we will always continue to do whatever is necessary to bring those responsible for these heinous crimes to justice, whilst ensuring the victims are given the support they need.”
