Windsor Man Slammed with 25 Years for Horrific Child Sex Crimes
Shane Medhurst, 57, from Windsor, has been locked up for a quarter of a century after a Thames Valley Police probe uncovered multiple child sex offences. The verdict came down at Reading Crown Court on June 10 following a detailed two-week trial.
Shocking List of Charges
The jury found Medhurst guilty of a string of vile crimes, including:
- Five counts of sexual activity with a child
- Three counts of inciting a child to engage in sexual activity
- Two counts of causing a child under 13 to engage in penetrative sexual activity
- Two counts of sexual assault of a child under 13
- One count of causing a child under 13 to engage in sexual activity
- One count of assault of a child under 13 by penetration
Police Praise Brave Young Victims
Detective Constable Sharon Lenihan from the Child Abuse Investigation Unit said, “Medhurst will now serve a substantial prison sentence for the sexual offences he committed against children. Thames Valley Police remains committed to prosecuting perpetrators of child sexual offences and protecting the wider public. This case underscores that survivors of sexual abuse should feel empowered to come forward, regardless of the passage of time.”
