Thorpe Admits Carrying Blade but Claims He Meant to Surrender It
In interviews, Thorpe admitted to carrying the blade but said he intended to hand it to police. At an earlier hearing, he pleaded not guilty to possession but guilty to breaching the court order.
Six Months Inside and a £120 Victim Surcharge
On 15 January, Thorpe was found guilty of possession at 1 Magistrates’ Court. He was jailed for six months and fined £120.
Sergeant David Underwood said: “Thorpe was in possession of a nasty looking blade and I fully accept the court locking him up. We are committed to tackling knife crime throughout the Capital and sentences like this show our swift action against those who carry weapons.”
