Night of terror as shots fired in Ilford – one man injured
Police have launched a major investigation after a double shooting rocked Ilford overnight. Officers rushed to Loxford Lane at 11.41pm on Friday, 28 June following reports of gunfire.
19-year-old shot and rushed to hospital
On arrival, officers found a 19-year-old man with a gunshot wound. He was quickly taken to an East London hospital. His condition remains unknown as police await updates.
Second shooting sparks fear on High Road
Shortly after, cops received reports of another shooting on High Road, Ilford. Thankfully, no one was hurt but evidence confirmed a firearm was discharged.
Police link shootings and enforce Section 60 stop-and-search
Authorities have linked the two incidents and no arrests have been made yet. A Section 60 order is now active in Ilford until 3.45pm on 29 June, allowing police to stop and search without suspicion.
