Cadbury Creme Egg Heist: Man Jailed for Stealing Nearly 200,000 Chocolates
Joby Pool, 32, has been locked up for 18 months after stealing nearly 200,000 Cadbury Creme Eggs in a daring raid. On February 11, Pool broke into an industrial unit in 123, surrendering peacefully with his hands in the air.
Judge Lowe doubted Pool’s claims that he acted alone. “The level of planning and knowledge required suggests others were involved,” he remarked.
Pool Shows Remorse, But Court Sticks to Custody
During the trial, Pool expressed regret over his actions and the hit it took on his family and the company. Yet, the court deemed the crime serious enough to warrant jail.
West Mercia Police celebrated their role in cracking the case on Twitter, saying they helped “save Easter” for Cadbury fans by recovering the stolen chocolate stock and preventing a hefty £31,000 loss.
