Teen Stabbed in Leg Near Croydon Tram Stop as Four Teens Arrested
A teenager was knifed near Therapia Lane tram stop in Croydon on Saturday evening, sparking a police hunt and arrests.
Stabbing Shocks Croydon Tram Stop
At 7.22pm on May 25, a man in his late teens was stabbed in the leg close to the tram stop. Paramedics rushed him to hospital, but thankfully his injuries were not life-threatening. He was discharged later the same day.
Four Teens Nabbed on Suspicion of GBH
Police quickly cordoned off the area and launched an investigation. Within hours, four teenagers were arrested nearby on suspicion of grievous bodily harm:
- A 16-year-old boy from Beddington
- A 16-year-old from Croydon
- A 17-year-old from Sutton
- A 19-year-old from South Norwood
All four have been released on bail until June 21, with strict conditions banning them from the tram network.
British Transport Police Respond
BTP officers were called to an area near Therapia Lane tram stop following a report of a stabbing,” a British Transport Police spokesman said. “A man in his late teens suffered an injury to his leg and was taken to hospital. Three boys and a man were subsequently arrested… They have been released on bail with conditions not to enter the tram network.”
