Fake Gun Sparks Panic at Cineworld
Chaos erupted on the evening of Thursday, 14 March, around 9.20 pm at Cineworld in The Beacon, Terminus Road. Witnesses called police after spotting a man waving what looked like a firearm.
Armed Police Rush In, Discover Fake Weapon
Police swiftly sent armed officers to the scene to tackle the potential threat and protect the public. Once there, the officers found the ‘firearm’ was actually an imitation weapon, dashing fears of a genuine gun.
Suspect Arrested and Charged
Clarence Jarquin, 45, from Lascelles Terrace, eastbourne/" title="Eastbourne" data-wpil-keyword-link="linked">Eastbourne, was arrested at the scene. He now faces charges for possession of an imitation firearm in public and obstructing a police officer.
Jarquin was released on conditional bail and is due in court on Monday, 15 April. The exact court location remains unconfirmed.
