Young Kiwi Caught Smuggling 20kg of Cocaine into Australia at Sydney Airport
Huge Drug Haul Nabbed by Sharp Aussie Border Force
A 21-year-old New Zealand man has been slapped with serious drug charges after Australian authorities found 20 kilograms of cocaine hidden in his luggage. The drug bust unfolded at Sydney Airport on February 1, 2025, when vigilant Australian Border Force (ABF) officers flagged the young traveller arriving from the United States.
During a thorough baggage check, ABF uncovered 22 vacuum-sealed packages stuffed deep inside the man’s bags. Quick tests confirmed the white powder was pure cocaine, triggering an immediate handover to the Australian Federal Police (AFP).
