Two teens charged with brutal murder of 23-year-old in East London

Deadly attack rocks St Paul’s Way

Two 19-year-olds have been charged with the murder of 23-year-old Alimuz Zaman in East London. Alimal Islam, 19, from Burgess Street, and Mofizur Rahman, 19, from Wallwood Street, were both charged on Thursday, 30 May, following the deadly stabbing at St Paul’s Way on Sunday, 26 May.

Grievous bodily harm charges also filed

In a chilling twist, both men face separate charges of grievous bodily harm against another victim – a 25-year-old man caught up in the violent spree. The pair appeared at 1 Magistrates’ Court on Thursday and were remanded in custody, awaiting a hearing at the Old Bailey.

Two others bailed pending investigation

Police also arrested two other men, both aged 23, on suspicion of murder on Monday, 27 May. However, these men were released on bail and are set to return to court in late June as the investigation continues.
