Met Police Officer Sacked After Nightclub Brawl in Soho
A Metropolitan Police officer has been booted from the force after a drunken scuffle in Greenwich spiralled out of control. PC Laura Seal lost her job following an incident that began after a night out hitting Bomb Bar, Hollywood Bowl, and Zebrano nightclub in Soho.
Man’s Taunts Spark Violent Reaction
While dancing with colleagues, PC Seal was approached by a man wanting to join their group. When they turned him down, he allegedly insulted the officers, calling them “ugly trolls” and bragging, “I can do what I want to women.” The man denies these claims.
Headlock and Floor Takedown
PC Seal reacted aggressively, grabbing the man by the collar, putting him in a headlock, and dragging him to the floor. She claimed she feared the situation could escalate to sexual assault. However, a police misconduct panel branded her explanation “implausible.”
“I don’t know, I just lost it, I just pushed him away,” PC Seal admitted during the hearing.
Misconduct Panel Rules Against PC Seal
The disciplinary hearing found her actions were driven by anger, not genuine concern for safety. No proof backed her claims of feeling threatened by a sexual assault risk. As a result, PC Seal was dismissed without notice.
Met Police Vow to Keep Standards High
The case highlights the critical need for police officers to maintain professionalism, even under pressure. The Metropolitan Police insists it will continue enforcing strict conduct rules and accountability across its ranks.
