Tragic Fall Claims 18-Day-Old Infant
Disaster struck early on Saturday, March 14, when police rushed to Horseferry Road after reports of a newborn baby falling from a height at a home. The tiny 18-day-old was immediately taken to hospital but sadly could not be saved.
Mother Arrested and Charged with Murder
Zahira Byjaouane, 43, the baby’s mother and resident of Horseferry Road, was arrested and charged with murder the very next day, Sunday, March 15. She has been remanded in custody and is due to face Westminster Magistrates’ Court on Monday, March 16.
Met Police Launch Full Investigation
The Metropolitan Police’s Specialist Crime Command are leading a detailed probe into this tragic case. Detectives are appealing for witnesses.
