Rapper Drug Dealers Jailed After Filming Crime Spree in Medway Flat

Rapper Drug Dealers Behind Bars After Filming Crime Spree

Two young Medway drug dealers’ music careers came crashing down after police discovered videos of them rapping about their illegal exploits. Caleb Umeniyora, 18, and Tristan Sotange, 18, both from East London, were jailed for two years and five months each after admitting to possession with intent to supply crack cocaine and heroin.

Rapping Drug Dealers Caught Red-Handed

The pair were sentenced at Maidstone Crown Court on Thursday, 26 April 2018. Trouble began on 13 December 2017 when officers stopped by a flat in Boundary Road, Chatham, during a routine check. Inside, Umeniyora and Sotange were found acting suspiciously and soon arrested on drug charges.

Damning Evidence from Their Own Phones

Police searched the men’s phones and uncovered shocking videos. Not only were they rapping about their drug dealing lifestyle, but they also filmed themselves packing heroin and crack cocaine for sale inside the flat.

  • 43 wraps of heroin found
  • 35 wraps of crack cocaine discovered
  • Street value estimated between £780 and £1,560

Detective’s Verdict: Bold Moves Backfire

“Both men were brazen enough to film themselves with the drugs as well as rapping about being drug dealers but ultimately these videos have brought about their downfall. Umeniyora and Sotange had no choice but to plead guilty due to the evidence officers had secured against them. They targeted a vulnerable resident to use their flat as a drug base and didn’t care about the victim’s suffering.” – Detective Constable Rob Hemsley

Their flashy videos, meant to boast their crime, instead sealed their fate. Two years and five months behind bars for their dangerous hustle.
