Teenager Charged With Murder After Brutal Brixton Stabbing

18-Year-Old Arrested Over Deadly Attack

Brandon Aldon McNeil, 18, from Lollard Street, SE11, was charged on Friday, 30 July with murder, attempted murder, and possession of an offensive weapon in a private place.

He is set to appear before Bromley Magistrates’ Court on Saturday, 31 July.

Victim Stabbed Near Brixton Tube

Police raced to Brixton Underground Station at 8:18 pm on Wednesday, 21 July, following reports of a savage assault.

Officers found 23-year-old Shane from Thornton Heath suffering stab wounds.

Despite frantic efforts from police, paramedics, and a London Air Ambulance crew, Shane was pronounced dead at the scene.

Other Arrests Made

  • A 17-year-old male was arrested on Thursday, 29 June, and has been bailed until late August.
  • A 19-year-old man arrested on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm was later released with no further action.
