Taser Chaos at Pub Leave Woman and Man Injured in Chalvington

Police are hunting witnesses after a violent bust-up outside a pub in Chalvington near Hailsham turned nasty. Trouble erupted late on 5 September when a mob of youths tried to force their way into the venue on Chalvington Road.

Youths Wield Tasers Amid Late-Night Fracas

Officers were called to the scene at 11.40pm. According to reports, one youth pulled out a taser and aimed it at a crowd. Another fired a second taser, hitting a woman bystander and causing minor injuries. An 18-year-old man was also punched and suffered a cut to his eye during the scuffle.

Two Arrested as Police Probe Weapon Use

  • An 18-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to cause fear.
  • A 16-year-old boy was arrested on suspicion of possessing a weapon for discharging noxious liquid and assault.

Both suspects have been released on bail pending further inquiries, due back on 3 October.

Police Urge Public to Come Forward

Detective Constable Aretha Robinson said: “We are appealing for witnesses to this incident and would like to hear from anyone who may have filmed it or taken photos to come forward.”
