Fire Erupts at Erith Paper Shredding Yard, Two Tonnes of Paper Destroyed
A blaze tore through a paper shredding yard in Erith on the morning of January 19, destroying around two tonnes of paper and damaging machinery. The London Fire Brigade sprang into action shortly after the fire was reported at 9:27am.
Massive Firefighter Response

Fire Under Control Within an Hour
The firefighting team had the blaze under control by 10:30am, preventing further damage. The London Fire Brigade confirmed, “A small part of a paper bale compactor was destroyed by fire. A further two tonnes of paper were moved outside to the road and were extinguished by crews. The cause of the fire is under investigation.”
