14 Years On: Police Hunt Witnesses in Cold-Blooded Kings Cross Killing
Detectives are renewing their desperate appeal for witnesses to come forward in the murder of Daniel Ross, gunned down 14 years ago in Kings Cross. The shocking shooting unfolded at around 3.45am on Sunday, 24 September 2006, inside the busy Scala nightclub on Pentonville Road.
Victim Shot at Close Range on Packed Dance Floor
That fateful night, 22-year-old Daniel was struck by a gunshot wound after a suspect brazenly walked onto the dance floor and fired at close range. Despite emergency services rushing him to hospital, Daniel tragically died from his injuries.
£10,000 Reward on Table for Killer’s ID
Detective Inspector Will Reynolds said: “Despite the passing of 14 years, the murder of Daniel Ross remains unsolved.” He urged anyone who was at the club and has yet to speak to police to come forward.
“Your information could help my team make the much-needed breakthrough in this case. The Metropolitan Police Service is offering a substantial reward of up to £10,000 for information leading to the identification, arrest and prosecution of the person responsible.”
DI Reynolds added: “It’s not too late to do the right thing. No detail is too small, and we will handle all information in strict confidence.”
Family Plea: “Do the Honourable Thing”
Daniel’s parents made a heartfelt plea on the 14th anniversary of their son’s death:
“We appeal to anyone in our community and beyond who has information about Daniel’s death to examine their conscience, come forward and tell us what they know. Nothing can bring Daniel back, but we can bring those responsible to justice.
To the person(s) who took Daniel’s life, do the honourable thing, and give yourself up.”
“We continue to mourn Daniel every day. The pain of not having him with us is indescribable, and it breaks our hearts that people refuse to share what they know about his murder.”
