Seven Held in London Terror Raids Linked to Kurdish PKK Group
Targeted Arrests Across London
The Met’s Counter Terrorism Command swooped on seven suspects tied to the banned Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK) on Wednesday, November 27. The detainees include a 59-year-old woman, a 27-year-old man, a 31-year-old woman, and four men aged 23 to 62. All were arrested under Section 41(1) of the Terrorism Act 2000.
A magistrate court granted a warrant extending their detention until Friday, November 29, as the investigation intensifies.
Multiple London Raids Unfold
Police have executed searches at eight London addresses, completing three so far, with five still ongoing. Officers warn these operations may cause disruption to local neighbourhoods over the coming days.
“These arrests have been targeted at specific individuals suspected of being linked to terrorist activity. I want to reassure the community that our activity is being carried out to keep everyone safe from potential harm,” said Acting Commander Helen Flanagan.
Police Reach Out to Kurdish Community
Detective Chief Superintendent Caroline Haines, leading policing in Haringey, admitted the raids have unsettled the local Kurdish community. She is actively engaging with community leaders to ease tensions.
“I’m continuing to meet with Kurdish community members and I am grateful for their support and understanding during what we know is a very difficult time for them,” Haines added.
Increased police patrols and regular community meetings aim to maintain trust while safeguarding public safety.

The investigation is ongoing, with police committed to protecting the community and upholding security across the capital.
