Man Arrested Over Newham Stabbing Murder
A 28-year-old man was fatally stabbed on Ron Leighton Way, Newham, late Saturday night. Police rushed to the scene at 11:07pm on June 29 after reports of a stabbing. Paramedics arrived quickly but sadly, the victim was pronounced dead at the scene.
Murder Probe Underway
The victim’s identity is yet to be formally confirmed, and his family has been informed. A post-mortem will be conducted soon. The Homicide and Major Crime Command, led by Detective Chief Inspector Tony Kirk, has launched a full murder investigation.
Suspect in Custody
On Monday, July 1, a 23-year-old man handed himself into an east London police station. He was arrested on suspicion of murder and is now being held in custody as inquiries continue.
Police Appeal for Witnesses
“Although we have made an arrest, I am still keen to hear from anyone who witnessed this incident or has information or footage. Please don’t hesitate, make the call,” said DCI Kirk.
