Crash on Beaver Road Sparks Alarm

Kent Police were called to Beaver Road, Ashford, just before 3pm on Saturday 20 November 2021. A silver Vauxhall Astra had smashed into a fence, causing concern among local residents.

Driver Threatens Bystanders, Claims to Be Police

Witnesses say one occupant of the car threatened members of the public and even falsely claimed to be a police officer, sparking fear at the scene.

David Saunders Faces Multiple Charges

David Saunders, 37, from Beaver Road, Ashford, has been charged with:

  • Using violence towards others
  • Impersonating a police officer
  • Threatening a person with a knife
  • Dangerous driving
  • Failing to provide a specimen for analysis

He appeared at Folkestone Magistrates’ Court on Monday 22 November and was remanded in custody. Saunders is set to face Canterbury Crown Court on 20 December.
