Man Stabbed at Mansfield Service Station in Late-Night Attack
Police rushed to a Rosemary Street service station in Mansfield after reports of a violent assault on Sunday night.
A man in his thirties was stabbed once in the back at around 9:40pm. He was quickly taken to hospital with injuries that are not believed to be life-threatening.
Suspect Charged Over Brutal Stabbing
20-year-old William Tynch, from Rosemary Street, Mansfield, has been arrested and charged with wounding with intent and possession of an offensive weapon in a public place.
He is set to appear at Nottingham Magistrates’ Court today (15 August).
Another Man Released on Bail
Aged 29, the second man was arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender and obstructing a police officer. He has since been released on conditional bail while inquiries continue.
Police Assure Public After Incident
“We are confident this was a self-contained incident and poses no risk to the wider public,” said Detective Sergeant Georgie Gallagher of Nottinghamshire Police.
“However, officers will carry out visible patrols in the coming days to reassure the community.
“Nottinghamshire Police treat weapon-enabled crimes and violent behaviour with utmost seriousness. Anyone involved should expect a robust response.”
Thanks to close collaboration between detectives and officers, a suspect has been charged and will soon face the courts.
