Hit-and-Run Horror: Toddler Injured in Southampton Crash

Police launch urgent appeal after a four-year-old girl is left fighting for hospital care following a hit-and-run in Southampton.

Silver Ford Focus Flees Scene

The incident happened on Denzil Avenue at 7.50pm on 27 July. The girl was struck by a silver Ford Focus that sped off without stopping.

She suffered a broken leg and was rushed to Southampton General Hospital, where she remains this morning.

Police Hunt Driver and Witnesses

The car, registration ending in ‘UEN’, was found abandoned in Fanshaw Street, near Onslow Road. Officers believe the driver dropped two passengers off shortly after the crash on Verulam Road.

PC Ian Bassett said: “We want to hear from anyone who saw this car in the area last night. Your information could be vital to our investigation.”

He added: “If you witnessed the incident or know who was behind the wheel, please get in touch. A young girl suffered serious injuries, and we need to find the driver. We also urge the driver to come forward and explain what happened.”
