Murder Probe Launched After Child Found Dead in Faringdon
Tragic Discovery at Bromsgrove Cottages
Thames Valley Police have opened a murder investigation after a young child was found dead in Faringdon. Officers were called to Bromsgrove Cottages at around 1.20pm today.
Arrest Made, Investigation Underway
Detective Inspector Dave Hubbard, leading the Major Crime Unit, confirmed an arrest has been made. He said: “Following the discovery of a deceased child, we have launched a murder investigation. The next of kin have been informed, and we are offering them support.”
DI Hubbard urged anyone with information to call Thames Valley Police on 101, quoting reference 730 (14/03). Alternatively, people can contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111. No personal details are taken, and callers won’t be traced.
Community on Edge as Police Boost Patrols
South and Vale of White Horse police chief, Superintendent Rory Freeman, acknowledged the impact on the local community. He said: “This is a very shocking discovery and I am aware it may have a very direct impact on the community of Faringdon.”
