Van Rammed Gates in Brazen Burglary Spree – Two Arrested

Van Used as Weapon in Double Break-In

Two suspects are behind bars after cops caught them red-handed with stolen vehicles following a brazen burglary spree in Nottinghamshire. On Thursday 1 December, a van was used to smash through the gates of two businesses just hours apart.

The first hit was around 5.30pm at a private unit on New Road, Radford. Thieves stole building equipment and tools before making their escape. But the same van was back in action later that night.

Second Break-In Ends in Police Chase

At roughly 11:50pm, the van crashed through gates at a business on Pasture Road, Stapleford. Inside, crooks nabbed a vehicle and car keys before officers from the road crime team arrived on the scene.

The van was still chained to the gate when police found it, while the stolen car was spotted being driven away.

A tense police pursuit followed. The van, driving on cloned plates, rammed a police car and wove dangerously through the streets before finally being stopped. The stolen car was also intercepted shortly after.

Two Men Arrested, Investigation Ongoing

  • Both suspects, aged 26, are charged with burglary, dangerous driving, and failing to stop.
  • One faces additional charges for handling theft tools and driving while disqualified.

“Burglary is an incredibly intrusive crime that hits local businesses hard, affecting livelihoods and wellbeing,” said Detective Sergeant Georgina Gallagher from Nottinghamshire Police. “The reckless driving shown is unacceptable on our roads. We’ve arrested two suspects but investigations continue. Anyone with information should come forward.”
