Teen Stabbed to Death in Islington Sparks Murder Probe
A shocking stabbing in Islington has left a 15-year-old boy dead, sparking a murder investigation. Police were called to Holland Walk, N19, just after 5.30pm on Monday, 25 January, after reports of a stabbing.
Fatal Attack on Teen
Emergency services, including the London Ambulance Service and HEMS air medics, rushed to the scene. They found the teenager with a serious stab wound. Despite their desperate efforts, the boy was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police believe the victim is 15-year-old Romario Opia. His family have been informed and are receiving specialist support.
Police Hunt Killer
The Met’s Specialist Crime Command has launched an urgent inquiry into Romario’s death. A 16-year-old male was arrested on suspicion of affray but later released without charge.
Chief Superintendent Raj Kohli, leading the Central North unit, said: “A young person’s life has been taken and our thoughts are with his family and friends who have lost someone very special to them.
“Our community will be shocked and upset by this. We have a dedicated team working hard to catch those responsible.
“If you know anything, please come forward and help us.”
Call for Witnesses
Detective Chief Inspector Neil John added: “We are determined to bring those involved to justice. Anyone with information — especially mobile phone footage of the attack — should get in touch.”
