Walthamstow Stabbing Victim Named
Michael Paul Baptista, 24, has been identified as the tragic victim of a fatal stabbing in Walthamstow. Police were called to Bromley Road, E17, at 7:16pm on Thursday, 19 December after an altercation turned deadly.
Emergency Services Unable to Save Young Man
Officers and London Ambulance crews arrived to find Michael suffering from serious stab wounds. Despite their efforts, he was pronounced dead at the scene.
Murder Investigation Underway
A post-mortem confirmed stab injuries as the cause of death. Detective Inspector Joanna Yorke, leading the probe, thanked locals for their help and clarified the killing is not suspected to be gang-related.
“Specially trained officers are supporting Mr Baptista’s family,” said DI Yorke.
A 29-year-old man has been charged with Michael’s murder. He is due to appear at Thames Magistrates’ Court on Monday, 23 December.
