Weapons, Drugs, and Cash Seized
Police swooped on properties in Croydon, Lambeth, Bromley, and Chelmsford today, seizing an imitation firearm, two Tasers, Class A and B drugs, and a hefty £5,000 in cash. The raids were part of a major crackdown by the Met’s South Basic Command Unit (BCU).
Nine Warrants Executed in Intelligence-Led Blitz
Officers served nine warrants on Wednesday, 19 August, arresting six men and two women aged between 21 and 61. All were held on suspicion of drug supply offenses, linked to ongoing gang and violence investigations in the South 1 policing area.
Operation Backed by Tactical Support
The raids marked the third phase of a targeted campaign disrupting gang activity. The arrests came with support from the Territorial Support Group (TSG), reinforcing the Met’s commitment to tackling crime in south London.
Suspects in Custody as Searches Continue
All eight suspects remain in custody at a south London police station, while officers continue searches at the various properties involved. This latest strike sends a clear message to criminals operating in the capital.
