Ex-Police Officer Charged Over Child Sex Images Scandal
A former Sussex Police officer faces three serious charges linked to indecent images of a child after a police probe.
George Voisey Arrested and Charged
George Voisey, 23, was caught up in the investigation after being arrested on October 24, 2024. He now stands charged with one count of distributing an indecent image of a child and two counts of making such images. The offences allegedly took place between June 22 and October 24, 2024.
Not on Duty When Alleged Offences Took Place
Voisey was off the clock during the time the offences are said to have occurred. Following his arrest, he was suspended and later resigned from Sussex Police on March 1, 2025.
Court Date Set and Probe Continues
The 23-year-old is slated to appear at Brighton Magistrates’ Court on March 27, 2025. Sussex Police confirmed the case has been passed to the Independent Office for Police Conduct (IOPC), which ordered a local investigation by their Professional Standards Department.
“The force will consider misconduct proceedings once the criminal proceedings have concluded,” a Sussex Police spokesperson said.
The police force vows to uphold the highest conduct standards as the case unfolds.
