Man Bailed After Sexual Offence at Fort Victoria Country Park

A man arrested over a serious sexual offence at Fort Victoria Country Park, Yarmouth, on Monday 31 August, has been bailed until 28 September. The investigation is ongoing, police confirmed.

Police Plea: Speak Up if You Were There

Superintendent Sarah Jackson, Isle of Wight District Commander, thanked the community for their support. She said:

“Detectives investigating this offence have been working tirelessly and will continue to do so. I would like to once again thank the community for their ongoing support, feedback and assistance with our enquiries.

Please continue to call us with any information you have that could help. We believe there may be others who were in the park but have not yet come forward.”

Warning to Parents and Guardians

Supt Jackson urged parents to be vigilant when children are playing outdoors. She added:

“Incidents such as this are very rare, but I am asking parents and guardians to be vigilant. Children should look out for each other and avoid talking to strangers. Please report anything suspicious immediately to 101.”
