Serial Charity Tin Thief Caught Red-Handed Again in Portsmouth
Bungling charity thief Lee White, 35, of Milton’s Locksway Road, was snapped on CCTV stealing yet another charity tin. This time, the naive nick took a collection box from the Milton Arms pub.
Repeat Offender Busted Yet Again
White, with a long rap sheet for charity thefts, was already out on licence for nicking a staff tips pot from Pie & Vinyl in Castle Road. On Friday at Portsmouth Magistrates, he picked up another three-month jail sentence. This included not one, but three more charity thefts all committed recently.
His Crime Streak Includes:
- 20 December: Tips pot stolen from Pie & Vinyl, Castle Road
- 28 January: Charity tin swiped from Bangkok Restaurant, Albert Road
- 3 February: Charity tin stolen from Thatched House, Milton
- 5 February: Charity tin nicked from Milton Arms
No Lessons Learned from Past
Shockingly, White showed no sign of reform since his 2013 spree, when he was jailed for four months over similar thefts from charity boxes and tip jars across Portsmouth.
Back then, he was caught on CCTV lifting donations from Le Cafe Parisien, Osprey Fish and Chip Shop, Ashleigh Sight Care Opticians, and several other venues, hitting charities like The Rowans Hospice, Gurkha Welfare Trust, RNLI, Marie Curie, and the Portsmouth Association for the Blind.
Despite the growing file of convictions, Lee White’s relentless spree continues—proving once again some crooks just can’t quit.
