Two women have been charged over the theft of a charity sweets dispenser from a taxi firm’s waiting room in Maidstone.

The gumball machine disappeared from the taxi company’s waiting area on 24 September 2020. It wasn’t just any sweets dispenser—it was a charity fundraiser, making the stunt all the more brazen.

Cops Nab Two Suspects

On Wednesday 7 October, police arrested Samantha White, 40, from Plumpton Walk, and Joanna Stansall, 31, from Quarry Road. Both women face theft charges.

Next Stop: Court

The pair were soon bailed and are due to appear at Maidstone Magistrates’ Court on 12 November. Sweet justice, hopefully!
