A 24-year-old has been arrested in Royton this morning over the terrifying kidnapping and attack on an 87-year-old man in West Yorkshire. This marks the second arrest in the disturbing case.
Grim Ordeal: Elderly Victim Dragged Into Car and Assaulted
The horror unfolded on September 15 in Oldham’s Lee Street area. At around 9pm, the elderly victim was forcibly bundled into a black car, blindfolded, and threatened for money and valuables. He was later violently assaulted and dumped in Rishworth, West Yorkshire. The shaken man managed to get help by knocking on a door near 10.40pm.
Two Men in Custody as Police Probe Intensifies
The latest arrest follows a 39-year-old man’s capture on September 19, who was later released on bail. Detective Inspector Emma Hulston of Greater Manchester Police’s Major Incident Team confirmed:
“We have arrested two men in connection with this shocking incident. Our team is making good progress gathering evidence to uncover the full circumstances.”
DI Hulston reassured the public that this appears to be an isolated incident with no wider threat. She added specialist officers are supporting the victim and detectives are working tirelessly to bring those responsible to justice.
