Drug Dealer’s Cocaine Stash Hidden Inside Kinder Egg! A crafty cocaine peddler from Uttoxeter tried to smuggle his stash inside a Kinder Surprise egg container – but got caught and landed behind bars.
Four and a Half Years for Uttoxeter Drug Dealer
Mark Groombridge, 38, was sentenced to four-and-a-half years at Stafford Crown Court on Monday (20 May). He pleaded guilty to supplying class A cocaine, class B cannabis, and possession of two bladed weapons.
Last November, he was stopped driving a grey Peugeot van on Uttoxeter High Street by major crime officers. Police found £705 in cash and a mobile phone on him.
Kinder Egg Cache and More Drugs Seized
In custody, officers discovered Groombridge’s sneaky cocaine deals hidden inside a Kinder Surprise egg container. He also failed a drug swipe test, leading to his arrest.
Later, a search of a Uttoxeter address uncovered another £390 in cash, more cocaine, and drug paraphernalia. After a separate arrest in October, police seized knives, cannabis, cocaine, and unused snap bags from his vehicle and property.
Police Crackdown Continues: “Drugs Not Welcome in Staffordshire”
Detective Sergeant Jon Bradbury said: “Groombridge is a serial offender, so seeing him behind bars is a great satisfaction. We will keep targeting those involved to protect our most vulnerable and disrupt drug supply across Staffordshire. Drugs are not welcome here.”
This bust is part of Staffordshire Police’s ongoing fight against serious crime under Operation Target, launched last year. The force is teaming up with local police to tackle drug dealing, knife crimes, firearms, human trafficking, and sexual exploitation across the county.
